At our January General Meeting and the body elected the following officer positions:

Congratulations to the newly elected board members!
Newly appointed Dallas County Elections Administrator Toni Pippins-Poole will join us as our featured guest speaker. She will discuss Voter ID, as well as other issues related to Dallas County election administration. Prior to her most recent appointment, she served Dallas County as Assistant Elections Administrator for over 20 years. Ms. Pippins-Poole has conducted more than 300 contracted elections and has worked with numerous local and national voter awareness programs. She and her staff work diligently to ensure fair and equal access to the electoral process for the citizens of Dallas County.
She will provide valuable insight into the upcoming Voter ID law, and other issues that impact our elections here in Dallas County. Please join us for this informative meeting!
Our next general meeting is Wednesday, October 12th at 7pm at Brooklyn’s Jazz Cafe located at 1701 S. Lamar St. Dallas, TX 75334.
THE FOLLOWING REPRESENTS OUR POSITION FOR FAIR REPRESENTATION REGARDING CITY COUNCIL REDISTRICTING:
· Ensure that we have 4 winnable African American Council seats
· In 1991 we fought successfully for 5 African American Council seats, in 2001 we had 4 African American seats, and now we are in DANGER of losing another seat – which would only leave us 3. We cannot allow them to push us backwards.
· African Americans have been in the forefront of the struggle for fair representation FOR ALL through our fight for single-member districts – we will not allow our struggle for voting rights to be violated.
WE NEED YOU TO JOIN US AS WE DEFEND AND PROTECT OUR STRUGGLE FOR 4 AFRICAN AMERICAN COUNCIL SEATS.
